Thank you for an exciting 2016 Hunt! Throughout this event’s history we have enjoyed some beautiful spring days, sunshine and green fields, and yes, we all prefer that. But for many reasons the 2016 Hunt stands out as one for the books because it showcased just how dedicated our volunteers, participants and donors are to our cause. An ice storm, cold temperatures and power outages didn’t stop us; our volunteers showed up, at the crack of dawn, as they always do to organize and get things started. Our participants arrived in snowsuits, boots and woollies, ready for fun…and fun we all had! Thank you to everyone who made March 25 such a fabulous day, and for your commitment to NSD, our clients and life-changing Certified Service Dogs!

Months of preparation and hard work make the Hunt such a success. Under the direction of our Fundraising Coordinator our team of volunteers collect prizes and sponsorship, distribute promotional material, and organize Hunt day activities. Thank you to everyone who participated in this work. Special thanks to our volunteer Hunt Coordinators, Donna, Alison, Betsy, Sheila, Joyce, Marcedes and Marcia for your commitment.

Again, our sincere thanks to our volunteers, donors, participants, sponsors and staff;  you really did make a difference!

Official Easter Egg Hunt Sponsors:

Each year, thousands of plastic eggs are filled with dog treats and hidden over a defined area of a local park. Each egg contains a Milk-Bone treat and a sticker, representing a chance to win one of hundreds of great prizes.

Registrants receive two egg cartons, giving them the opportunity to collect up to 24 eggs.

Participants who collect donations on NSD’s behalf are eligible to collect more eggs based on the dollar value of the donations they received:

  • $50 to 150 raised: one additional egg carton will be provided
  • $151 to 300 raised: two additional egg cartons will be provided
  • $301 to 500 raised: three additional egg cartons will be provided
  • $501 or more raised: four additional egg cartons will be provided

Prize Collection: A prize card is given to all participants upon registration. Once the hunt is complete, the stickers from the collected eggs are transferred to the prize card. The prize card is then submitted to a volunteer who distributes the prizes that have been won.

Grand Prizes: Additional grand prizes are awarded to individuals with the highest dollar value of donations collected per location. Online pledge collection is an easy and effective way to collect donations. Get registered and start fundraising today!
